Jill Johnson hails from the Hoosier state, where she got her start on stage at the age of eight. By the time she was twelve, she was singing with the Indianapolis Opera Company. Jill has also graced the Indiana stages of Beef and Boards Dinner Theatre, Union Station, and Indiana Repertory Theatre, also performing in various commercials, including spots for Coca-Cola, Cedar Point, and the Indiana Lottery Commission. Jill has been a featured vocalist at Busch Gardens (Williamsburg, VA), Cedar Point Amazement Park (Sandusky, OH), and onboard the M/S Scandinavian Sun.
Jill is a Miami University (Oxford, OH) with her BSEd in Communication/Speech. She has taught English, reading, journalism, theatre, speech, and math to grades 6-12 in Ohio, Indiana, and Florida. Jill and her husband, Bill, have three adult children: Race (Madi), Steele (Hilary), and Hollyn (Noah), and a grandson, Storm. Jill stepped away from performing in 2002 to focus on her family. In 2016, her entire family was featured in the television reality show “Gold Medal Families.” This was leading up to their son and brother, Steele, competing as a diver in the Rio Olympics and winning a silver medal.
In 2022, after relocating to Florida, Jill came out of vocal “retirement” and began performing again. In addition to singing, Jill is a professional speaker whose signature speech, “Achieve Your Dreams and Stop Just Chasing Rainbows,” focuses on how to reach your goals based on her family’s experiences, especially helping her son become an Olympian.
